Ulcerative Colitis

By Ann

I had ulcerative colitis off and on for seventeen years. It had been severe for the last two years.

Two years ago I was admitted into the hospital where I stayed for over 30 days. I was given Cortisone, Prednizone, Dipentum, and many other drugs. I wasn't allowed to eat and everything was given intravenously. I still am supposed to take 12 pills of Dipentum a day.

After the first acupuncture treatment I noticed a slight improvement that lasted a couple of days. Prior to treatment I was losing blood daily, every day, for six months. By the fourth session, there was no more bleeding at all. My bowel movements are becoming more normal. To date, I've had seven sessions and felt that I was pretty much cured.

Ulcerative colitis is statistically 20% hereditary. My mother and aunt have also been hospitalized for UC There is no cure. My mom was in a car accident and was given acupuncture care for pain. During her care, her UC also went away. She was never really sure if it went away from the acupuncture or not. She told me this while I was in the hospital with UC. I was very close to having a colostomy done! Because of the cost of the medication, the amount of drugs I've been put on, and still not going into remission, I finally tried acupuncture.

Thank God!
