Location:
On the depression distal and inferior to the
medial malleolus, midpoint between the tuberosity of the navicular bone and the
tip of the medial malleolus.
Classification:
Jing-River point of the Spleen Meridian.
Indications:
- Pain in the foot and ankle
- Hemorrhoids
- Abdominal distention and pain, diarrhea,
constipation
Functions:
Strengthens the Spleen and Stomach, resolves dampness.
Notes:
Jing-River points are where the qi of the
meridian begins to flow more heavily. They are known to treat cough and asthma
due to pathogenic cold or heat.
Needling:
Perpendicular insertion .5 - .8 cun.
