Stomach 4
Chinese Name: Dicang (English translation: Earth Granary)

Location:  On the face, lateral to the corner of the mouth, directly below the pupil of the eye.

Classification: Crossing point of the Stomach, Large Intestine Meridians and the Yang Qiao Vessel

Indications:

  • Wry mouth (crooked jaw), salivation
  • Twitching of the eyelids, twitching of the corner of the mouth (Bell's palsy, trigeminal neuralgia)

Functions: Dispels Wind, relieves pain, activates the meridian.

Needling: Oblique or subcutaneous insertion .5 - .8 cun; or puncture towards ST 6.
