Ask the Doctor

Q: My husband and I have been trying to conceive a child. Can acupuncture improve my chances of becoming pregnant?

A: Chinese medical practitioners and acupuncturists have been treating fertility for a very long time. In 2002 there was a study done in Germany in which acupuncture was used in conjunction with in vitro fertilization and the success rates were improved. Look for the April 2002 issue of Fertility and Sterility or go to www.ahealthyme.com for an overview.
