Happy Chinese New Year of the Monkey
|
January 22, 2004 began the new Chinese Year of the Monkey. It’s also the year
4702 of the Reign of the Yellow Emperor. According to the Chinese almanac, 2004
is a year of Metal and Wood energies. It conjures up a picture of a large but
rotting tree with a sharp ax chopping away at its roots. The conflict between
the two energies will eventually result in the falling of the tree and clearing
the way for a new cycle to begin. Since it’s the beginning of a new cycle, the
fresh start often gives a naturally energetic lift to the world and results in
increased optimism among people. Generally, the economy should also see an
uplift, and the world should make good progress in science and technology.
Monkey Year is characterized by constant changes, spontaneity and
transformations. So give in to your imagination and be creative and resourceful
to all problems. But be careful of over-optimism and be prepared for the
unexpected. Those who are adept at changes will thrive in the Year of the
Monkey.
The decline of the Wood energy should warrant attention to health problems
relating to one’s liver, nervous and cardiovascular systems. The presence of
Metal energy also wards off respiratory problems. One is more prone to
developing conditions such as high blood pressure, migraine headaches,
dizziness, vertigo, depression,
Anxiety, eye ailments, heart problems, numbness
and tingling in the limbs, poor circulation, sinus and respiratory conditions.
To prevent these health problems, one should strengthen one’s liver and heart
systems.
Free rest and relaxation should top the priority list. Liver cleansing programs
should be undertaken regularly as should exercise and meditation. Diet should
consist of much “green” color foods as this corresponds to the Wood Elemental
Energy. Leafy green vegetables like parsley, kale, mustard greens, spinach,
collards, chard, beets and beet greens, supplements containing rich chlorophyll
such as Spirulina, Chlorella and Blue-Green algae, herbs including dandelion,
milk thistle, peppermint and chrysanthemum should be consumed.
Internal Cleanse Tea is an excellent formula for this purpose.
International political conflicts will continue but with efforts focused on
resolving the root problems. There exists a strong underlying element of danger
lurking. Unpredictability will still be the norm as the clever monkey is always
coming up with new tricks and surprises. In other words, while undertaking new
projects and partnerships or ventures, watch for the “monkey on your back” as it
likely to throw you a “monkey wrench!”
2004 is a good year to be creative and start new ventures or programs. Always
stay flexible and have alternative plans. Focus your efforts on communication,
work that requires dexterity, arts and health. Take care of others and yourself,
and everything else will follow.
